Prospective Plant Parent: ZZs are the perfect plants for forgetful, borderline neglectful, plant parents or beginners that deem themselves “born with a brown thumb.”

Difficulty: EaZZy! (Super easy and beginner-proof.)

Lighting: ZZ Plants do best in medium to high indirect light, however, they do exceptionally well in low or fluorescent lighting. Basically you can’t go wrong, as long as you don’t put them in direct sunlight, they will be fine! If you start to see brown spots or curling leaves, your ZZ Plant might be getting too much sun.

Watering: ZZ Plants require very little water. One of the only ways to kill this sturdy plant is by drowning it with love in the form of water. Only water your plant when the soil is dry and the plant feels light. If you are using a saucer, do not let any water collect. Less water is more with your ZZ.

Humidity: Native of East Africa, ZZ Plants do not require any extra humidity.

Temperature: ZZ Plants like to be kept cozy in temperatures higher than 60 degrees, though they grow best in temperatures between 65-80 degrees with warmer temperatures increasing leaf production.
